The Center of Excellence for developing Age-Friendly Communities (CEDAC) was proposed in 2015 as an innovative initiative of MAGICS NGO with the objective of creating projects under the eight domains that qualify an age-friendly community. The center aims at creating Kerala State an age-friendly state through building a network of committed panchayats/ municipalities/ Cities. Standard projects and programs may be popularized throughout the state which provides opportunity to learn from various model and have unified programs. The Center collaborates with professional bodies and institutions to develop programs that could be upscaled throughout the state. The major role of the Center is to create a common ground for organizations and institutions to interact towards an Age-Friendly world.

Age Friendly Kochi City Project:

Discover the age-friendly city of Kochi, where programs and services are developed based on the eight domains of the World Health Organisation's age-friendly city framework. Explore the initiatives led by the Kochi Municipal Corporation and join the collaboration with organizations and institutions within the city. In Kochi city, the journey towards becoming Age-Friendly began in 2013 when discussions on addressing the needs of older persons took place. Recognizing the importance of this initiative, the Center of Excellence for Developing Age-friendly Communities (CEDAC) under MAGICS NGO and the Kochi Municipal Corporation collaborated to develop Age-Friendly programs.
