The Research and Development division of MAGICS NGO is committed to advancing innovative solutions in the field of ageing and geriatric care. As a core pillar of the organization, this division plays a pivotal role in supporting the Age-Friendly City initiative under the World Health Organization Global Network of Age-Friendly Cities and Communities (WHO-GNAFCC). By conducting baseline evaluations and surveys, we ensure that age-friendly policies and programs are grounded in comprehensive, data-driven research.

Our research spans across several cutting-edge areas, including the development of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions tailored to the needs of older adults. These technologies aim to improve healthcare delivery, enhance the quality of life for seniors, and promote independence.

We are exploring the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare, particularly for the elderly. Current projects focus on AI-based comprehensive geriatric assessments and dementia care, where personalized interventions can improve diagnostic accuracy and care management. Additionally, we are investigating AI-driven emergency alert response systems, sensor-based fall detection, and advanced safety monitoring tools, ensuring real-time responses and greater safety for older persons.

Our division is also spearheading research in neurorehabilitation, blending Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies with traditional therapies to address physical and cognitive health challenges in older adults. This innovative work is essential in preparing for the future of geriatric care.
